This is the point where you finally get your hands on the aircraft.
Base training will usually consist of a minimum of six take-offs and landings and will be your first experience of flying a commercial aircraft. A circuit pattern will be flown to allow you to complete the required number of take-offs and landings to a safe and satisfactory standard.
After some further paperwork, this completes the requirements of the type rating and the licence is now endorsed with the type by the CAA. When is comes to your licence, for example to fly the Boeing 737-800 you need to have the B737 300-900 rating on your licence.
Now it’s time for your line training.
