Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC) and Jet Orientation (JOC)

Until now, you have been learning to fly in a single crew environment. The Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) course takes the skills you have learnt and adapts them to work in a multi-crew environment. You also start to learn generic procedures, which are used in airline operations.

The Jet Orientation Course (JOC) is designed to bridge the gap between gaining you fATPL and commencing your first type rating. The course is aimed at gaining further knowledge and  developing skills of commercial aircraft handling.

Although the MCC & JOC are stand alone courses, you will often find the training providers combine them into a joint course.

A few of the more recognised training providers are:

Tip Jar

A second type of MCC/JOC training has been introduced over the last couple of years. This is called Airline Pilot Standard MCC, or APS MCC.

The APS was designed by the airlines as they saw a large percentage of newly qualified pilots failing the airline simulator assessments. After the course you will have completed around 50% more hours in the simulator, when compared to the standard MCC/JOC course.

This course costs around 50% more and is often only recommended by Ryanair.
